Hello everyone.
- I found Legit Reviews when I read the "Dream Machine" review in late November. The review really inspired me to get the present system I have, though it falls short of the reviewed configuration in some regards.
- My system:
EVGA 680i
Tuniq Tower 120
Intel QX6700
(Asetek LightSpeed Rev2)
4 * 1024mb G-Skill PC6400 (4096mb)
2 * XFX 8800 GTX 768mb SLI
(ASUS Ageia PhysX 128mb)
X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro 64mb
WD Raptor 36gb 16mb
WD RaptorX 150gb 16mb
Enermax Galaxy 1000W
Samsung 225BW
The PhysX card usually isn't used, as it requires a 8800 GTX to be removed. Not many application/games use it for now, sadly.
The LightSpeed I currently don't use, because of a bad circuit board. I haven't taken the time to replace it yet.
- I wouldn't call me a fanboy of anything. I'll take whatever is best at the time I need a new rig, which hopefully is a 2008 thing. I love maxed graphical settings and AA/AF.
- I game mostly FPS and RTS games, but I have my specific likes / dislikes regarding both genres. I like F.E.A.R (Extraction Point), Battlefield 1942: Forgotten Hope, BF1942: Desert Combat, Battlefield 2: Mercenaries, BF2: Allied Intent, X3 Reunion, Earth 2160 and Supreme Commander. I don't like the Counter Strike and C&C games/series.
I used to play alot of MM, but sadly I lack the time and dedication for now because of work.
- I used to overclock alot, but for now only the QX6700 is sometimes @ 3466mhz (13 * 266mhz), everything else is at stock. I am not really that facinated by OC as I used to be. I don't benchmark alot these days, though I wish, I had the time for it and game more.
Hope that answers the basic questions. Thank you for the great reviews.
