Welcome to the forums... They card was originally PCI Express, but they made an AGP version for legacy users of that graphics slot. The designers figured that if someone wanted to run a current PCIe card on an AGP motherboard that they also wouldn't have any 6-pin PCI Express power connectors. They included two 4-pin molex connectors instead of the single 6-pin PCIe connector for this reason. (Old PC's could run it with no adapters or anything like that)

Now that you know why they did this, the answer to your question is YES you need to use both power connectors!!! You are at risk of burning up the card if you don't have both plugged in.
