I use a sapphire radeon in an HTPC DVI->HDMI connected to sony bravia full-HDTV.
If I switch the TV to another source (example xbox360 on component) and directly back then DVI signal is gone; all's black.
If I then force the videocard to renew its signal (fullscreen dos and back) i have windows back on tv.
Since it is a HTPC i want to use it through remote, so I don't care what silly workaround I have to do to resolve this silly problem as long as it can be done through my pronto universal remote control. It might be some utility that I start with a windows hotkey that just only revives the signal from the videocard. I am a delphi programmer so if someone could inform me what code might suggest the videocard to end it's strike I's be much obliged too.
Thanks

Nope, WinXP Prof..
Meanwhile I created the workaround with silliness factor 10+ I was looking for
Old airboard keyboard remote IR receiver gets two keyboard commands from my pronto remote. One says 'alt-tab' (to get out of XBMC, the software I use in my HTPC), the other is just the defined keystroke for a shortcut to a batchfile, which just says ECHO HELLO at full screen and exits.

Meanwhile I found my problem is not unique:

Also it shows someone else who couldn't find another way out but with homebrew 'software'
I don't want to kick anyone against the toes, but I do get the idea that NVIDIA has it's business a bit better on order than ATI. Beside this little issue i find it a bit strange that if I connect the card to a 1080 screen and I tell windows to go to 1920x1080 I expect a pixel perfect image. In stead I got an image covering 80% of the screen with interpolated ugliness and I had to fiddle with some overscan slider to get it right..
