Post by Samki_Rock »

Hi...I have hd 4850.It goes great without any driver installed, but after installing it my computer cannot boot into Vista...after Vista boot screen it goes black and then restarts.I found on some forum a solution - dont install Catalyst Control Center...so i tried it and it worked...unfortunately after rebooting my computer the problem was the same(so it was working only one time)....I tried a lot of diferent drivers(of course i installed them on clean PC without any driver) I am running Vindovs Vista 64bit sp1

CPU: Phenom II x4 940
GPU: Sapphire HD4850
PSU: Coolermaster 550w
MB: GA 790x-UD4

Did you use the newest drivers or the one on the cd? I was also going to say(before I saw that it restarts) that maybe the refresh rate was set higher than the monitor can handle, but if your rig restarts after teh blank screen then I don't think that's the issue..did you use DriverCleaner or a similar program to totally clean out all of the left over files after you uninstalled the driver? leftover files from previous drivers might cause issues.

Hi, Are you using the lattice BIOS in you board, some times the I/O's and RIQ's can conflict with each other so a BIOS update can fix the problem. It's something else to look at too.
