Not Working as it should?

Post by DasBingo »

I have a ATI RADEON 9550SE ... 1GB DDR + 2x256 DDR ... Intel Pentium 4 at 2.4 Ghz x86 ... GA-8IPE1000 Motherboard ... 80 Gb Hard Disk Maxtor ... CMedia 5.1 Sound Card ... Windows Vista Ultimate x86 (6.0 Build 6000) DirectX 10 ... and every damn game runs with low FPS ... From Diablo2 to Two Worlds ... Regardless of the detail ... Sometimes High Detail runs better that Low Detail ... Should I throw my PC out the Window? ... Really Need Help Please ... ](*,) [-o< :prayer: :?

Is there a reason you have vista ultimate running on a p4 2.4 with a radeon 9550? did you just buy vitsa? because I believe things would run much nicer on XP with that machine. Just a thought. I see no real reason for low fps in the games mentioned, besides that, but the machine is dated and only really going to play older games well and vista isnt helping it.

yup I missed the 1GB. Is Aero off as well? Aero is known to cause issues with games. Also is Vista up to date, and do you have the most recent drivers that support your card?

I'm only running Athlon XP2400+ at 2Ghz with 2 Gb RAM and Radeon X1950 Pro and under Vista and all is fine!!
The game Bioshock doesn't tho!! To fix that issue I boot into XP running ATi Catalyst version 7.6 and the game runs like a gem!!!
Every ATi driver above 7.6 is woeful !!!!!!!
I wonder if ATi know this ??
