once installed went to control panel/add and remove there is ati uninstall utillity click it and it removes all drivers from machine (old, new the lot)
reboot
download and install latest ccc again (7.7) with one card in
shut down machine installed second card
restart machine once loaded go to catalyst control center
enable crossfire
my machine crashed at this point and i got a BSOD
restarted machine and everything worked

Well at leasat it's working now (I'm glad that you managed to fix it as I wasn't sure what to suggest next really

)
Your performance improvements don't seem to be that much with the 3dmark scores, did you see a big improvement in regular games?
(Its almost like its enabled, but not working at full capacity)
I agree that a 500W PSU should be plenty for this setup though, so maybe you are just CPU bound at the minute (get back to overclocking it

).

I had the same your problem!
Thank you, following your advices I managed to fix the problem, even if not definally
Now my cross fire is working (with 2*x1950pro 256mb). Every game (except 4 stalker, and I don't understand why) run well.
BUT: if I take a look on 3dmark06, on the "system detail" it tells me that my video memory is 320mb!!
Why???
What happened??
Shuldn't be 512?
Thak you 4 help

I don't know why it is registering as 320MB, but the way crossfire (and sli) work is that both cards have to process the same data so it is not actually a total of 512MB Vram, as they both have to hold the same data to process the frames consecutively, so its just like they are a much faster 256MB single card solution.
Maybe STALKER uses really high resolution/quality textures and is using up all of your Vram? Or it could just have a crossfire bug.
