I'm going to get a 3850 hopefully today or tomorrow. but, my question is
Everyone CLAIMS I need the 512 vs the 256 since my monitor is 1680 x 1050. In reality it makes sense. More video ram for more resolution. But, I've never seen a benchmark prove this. The only one I see is the Fear one where the guy has 1gb of ram and the 512 lets him use more features. This is because his total ram is used up tho. Not because of video ram making it stall. Fear uses over 1.25gb maxed out and you have 1gb ram .25 video. ~ 1.25 with the 512 obviously its 1.5. Now anyone have any confirmation saying that with the 256 I'm losing performance and not just .1% difference. Like an actual number/? I play a few different games and ram is not a problem I have plenty for todays games at least. Right now I'm using a 8600gt it will improve reguardless. the card was great when it debut at 100 dollars nothing was close for the price. But, now games need more.
