ATI Radeon 1270 makes my notebook freeze up

Hey there,
Just bought a new AMD 64bit athlonX2 Notebook. It has an ATI RADEON Xpress 1270 graphics card.
My computer is continually freezing up, about five to ten minutes after connecting to the web.
The reason I chose the ATI forum was because, when the computer freezes, a bluescreen appears and tells me I have a problem with either hardware or a hardware driver. It then identifies the file with the supposed problem to be 'ati2dvag'. I think the file extension is .ddl.
I did a search through c drive for this file, found at least six or seven of them, some are system files.
I've already tried a total reformatting of the computer, and after that didn't work I tried just uninstalling and then reinstalling the graphics card driver.
Still no luck, does anybody have an idea of what I could do to remedy this??
