I got my htpc set up and working.
I installed both MCE2005 and Vista home premium 32bit (since they say and it seems vista media center has lots of flaws so i'm testing which is working best for me).
I havent tried in XP yet but i cant capture in vista from the video in. I tried a few programs (virtualdub, captureflux, winavi capture and iu-something) , but all said that there is no capture device installed!
The driver installed is 7.12 + the avivo package (yup it installs on a few non x1000 cards) from ATi.
Am i missing something? Should i try the All-in-wonder drivers?
I dont see anything in device manager that has to do with capture
I would really like to see it working, since i can only install usb tv-tuners and the hybrid ones with video-in/svideo-in (at least the ones i can find here) are at least 50%+ more expensive!

And something else, is it possible to preview the input from ati video-in in media center?

Problem solved, it was a driver installation problem. Uninstalled with delete drivers checked in device manager till only microsoft vista drivers are left and reinstalled! I can capture now.
But i'm having a hard time there.

Anyway, i never had any idea of encoding etc, time to find out how to work them right!
