And who will pay the damage if this doesn't work out.
Why do you want to Xfire a 3870 with a 3850 ? Sell the 3850 & buy another 3870 either.

Did you even bother reading the article? Apparently the Catalyst 8.1 drivers allow you to run a 3870 and 3850 in Xfire.
From the article...
"AMD/ATI have done an excellent job with these new Catalyst v8.1 drivers. You can download ATI's latest Catalyst v8.1 drivers ... HERE (Vista 32-bit). It will allow users to mix affordable HD3850 with HD3870s from different manufacturers and enable Crossfire mode. Whether this interesting feature will be useful is entirely up to current Radeon owners."

It would have been a good to see if they compared how aHD3850+HD3750 in Crossfire fair against 2xHD3870s in Crossfire.

only two games and they didn't saw if it was the full version of crysis or the demo or if the latest crysis patch was installed...
If you guys are really interested in that I'd be happy to do that.

Yay! I'm quite curious of how much of a difference it makes when running mixed crossfire as apposed to not running a mixed crossfire.
