TV Wonder USB 2.0 Help

Hi everyone. I hope it's okay to ask this sort of question in this forum, I've never been here(obviously). I recently bought an ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0. It works great, or at least the hardware does. The Multimedia Center that comes with it SUCKS! It's got a lag making it unsuitable for anything involving user interaction(such as video games). So, I would like to know if anyone knows of a software or a driver that would let me use its USB audio input. I would basically like the functionality of the Multimedia Center with more stability and no input lag. Unfortunately, every program I have tried seems to support the video, but either doesn't find the audio or gives me an error when I try to use it. Any ideas? I would greatly appreciate any help.

Let me see what I can dig up for you. I also just e-mailed one of the lead engineers at ATI's driver development center to get an ATI response!
Welcome to the forums and hope we will have an answer for you real soon!

I guess there's been no luck so far?

I've done a little bit of research. First, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling all of the software? Try that, I mean go in and make suure everything is gone. It seems that sometimes the install doesn't go wqell, and the bugs want to disrupt what you are doing (playback and such). Other than that issue, I have yet to see anything else remotely close to what you are experiencing. Had that problem with Jason's TV Wonder and it ended up being a bad install with old drivers, it corrected itself with a clean install. Let me know how this works and we'll go from there.

I'm sure the drivers are fine. The hardware works good with third party applications. I can use it with WinDVR with no lag at all. I just can't get any sound. From what I've heard, Multimedia Center has lag because of bad programming. ATI's TV Wonder hardware is nice, they just made a bad piece of software. I basically want a more stable version of the Multimedia Center.

I don't know of any to actually replace the software. But SageTV is very good for recording stuff and playing it back, almost like TIVO, but without the subscription

I tried SageTV. It seems like a decent program. Unfortunately, like everything else, it tells me it caught capture the audio.

don't think I forgot about you! Here is the response from the Product Manager:
Hello Nathan,
I have not heard much on this, as it hasn't been replicated by anyone here. There is a slight lag when MMC + TV Wonder USB is used in timeshifting mode, but there is nearly no delay when in Live mode. The only thing I can say right now is that when MMC is being used for a video game, it should be switched to live mode to disable timeshifting. This will minimize any delay seen.
Does that help you out at all?

I don't understand though. Is the timeshifting enabled by default? I haven't been recording or anything. As far as I know it has been in Live mode all along

. Thank you for writing to them.
