wow, id love to see how much fun it is when a wire or two falls out of one of those computers used for testing. ive seen worse though,
heres the server room at my sons school

they brought me in after i told them i was an engineer on parent teacher night, they couldnt figure out why this one printer on the network would work
i told them, get me a box of cable ties, a crapload of cat5, and a cofe maker all on the same cart, cause i was gonna be there a while

now, i did this out of my OCD for messy cables, not out of courtesy. all of that night, into the next afternoon (the parent teacher night was on a friday) i worked and made the whole thing look like this:

then i told them, if you ever need help again, hire a better IT guy cause there is no way im doin that again!
now back on topic, whats up with those adapters they are using? it looks like its a dvi to dvi dongle, then a dvi to vga dongle? wth?

Nate,
Thanks for the look-n-see photos.
I would raise one eyebrow looking at the photo of testing AMD and Intel setups. If those cases on the top shelf were ever nudged, a game of dominoes would take place.

It's a good thing Toronto doesn't get strong earthquakes nonetheless.

I guess engineers are even tired of the stock maps on COD4 (pic of the engineers station Call of Duty Mod Warfare on the right monitor).

Wow that is some cleanup ^_^
How the hell did the network manager get away with running the network in that kind of state?!?!
As to the cards dongles (I presume you mean the back of the big racks), i think they are inverters, as they are using KVMs to run all of those PCs and I know that at least some KVM cables are the wrong sort to work like you want them too. So they have probably had to invert the VGA pins to fit the KVM cable in (so it runs card DVI -> DVI to VGA adaptor -> VGA inverter -> KVM cable).
