should i upgrade to HD3870 or 9600gt from 7900GS

i got 7900gs 256mb gddr3

i see my friend's 3650 radeon performing better in games compared to mine.

im goin to upgrade but wich path should i choose ? ati or nv?

ati seem sexier though.. will HD 3870 improves my 7900gs ? or should i go nv with 9600gt ?

the 3870 and 9600gt are in seperate price ranges. It's closer to compare the 8800gt to the 3870.
But, with that aside.
the 3870 is a more powerful card in almost all games except for Crysis. That is just because Nvidia has the better drivers for that game.
The 8800GT is more powerful than the 3870 if you want to compare that one.

wow I've been out of computers for 2 weeks and the 3870 dropped in price lol
ok so they are close
about 10 dollars from 9600gt to 3870 and 10 more to the 8800gt. so the best option is based on price.

I upgraded from a 7900GS to an 8800GTS 512 and it was an incredible difference. With you price range, I would definitely pick the 8800GT.
