Ati Sapphire HD3870X2

Post by TeraDude! »

Yooo,

I bought my new graphic card a few weeks ago.
I think this card rocks!!! but, i think it can work even better when i overclock this card.

Now, i have tried all the overclocking program's but nothing works propperly...
Rivatuner was the best tool i used but now it doesn't work anymore ...
I think ati overdrive works the best but i don't know how i can overclock my card with it.

My gpu clock is set on 800 mhz but its still 300 mhz how do set it on 800 mhz ?

This is my system config:

Amd anthlon 4600X2 64 bit
2 Gb 667 mhz
1 x western digital raptor 150 gb 10000 rpm (windows/games)
Ati HD3870X2

Please help me with this problem

Make sure you have Catalyst 8.3 drivers, there may just be a bug you're encountering with Riva/CCC.

Nice card! Don't worry about it saying that it's only 300MHz, when you're not playing a game or running folding @ home on the video card it throttles the speed down to save energy and put out less heat. :drinkers:

Interesting...I've never had a video card do a speed step like you describe. I have heard of them switching from 3D to 2d clocks though. Is that what you mean?

I dont think it overclocks itself ...

But how do i use the ati overdrive programm ?

It just don't take his configuration...
It dont accepts the clock frequentie

my card stays around 70*C, and yours uses a lot more wattz, so yeah, that's fine.

and higher speeds(except mem) and another core, and still one fan, and it's bigger...

if you look at any reviews, most say that the temps are around 80 under load :)

Lol the difrence is mostly €150 diffrence ....

My 3870X2 is almost the same speed as the 9800GX2 (diffrence is money and temp)
Transistors are running better on higher temperature ...

Thank you all :D

What did you dump your GF Heather?

Yeah a watt is a watt is a watt...just cause it goes thru you computer first doesn't mean it doesn't ultimate get turned into heat (every watt pumped into your computer will come back out as heat) so yeah, computer=room heater :)
