X1900GT and ViewSonic va1926w

Post by QAZXSWEDCVFR »

hi,
i have a ViewSonic va1926w LCD and a Shappire X1900GT video card with the latest driver.
my problem is that the dvi connection doesnt work anymore ('no signal' when windows start). it used to be work till today but when i did a restart to my machine it just stop working. the VGA (analog) connection is working. i have win XP with SP3 installed. when i unistall the X1900GT drive it works, but i cant do anything witout a driver.
any ideas? thanks..

Try rolling back to a driver you know worked with DVI.

Does your monitor have an .inf or driver that you can install?

This is a really no-brainer, but it happened to me once so I'll throw it out there. My first LCD monitor had a button that would toggle between the DVI and VGA inputs, it wouldn't automatically switch. I floundered and flustered for an hour before I realized this and hit the button to switch the feed over to DVI. Perhaps a similar button was hit with yours? If not, and if you have some spares, I'd suggest trying a different monitor with a DVI port and seeing if the problem persists, and switching out the video card with a different one. I've had cards where only one output died, so it is definitely possible.

I do have an option to switch between DVI to VGA, but the LCD do that automatically, it's written on the screen when i turn it on.
i think its a problem with my video card's driver... when i remove them it's work... it's also works on ubuntu's live cd...
thanks anyway..
