4870 + COH

just bought a new 4870 cart but after a few minutes it crash ore freeze up . (in the rts game COH )

with my old 8800 GTS i didnt had any problem what so ever .

my power suply is 550 watt is that not inough ?

Who makes your power supply and what model is it?

How many drives are hooked up to the power supply?
Any extras hooked up to the psu?

I used CoH for benchmarking the Radeon HD 4870 and didn't see any issues with the game and the card and the IQ was perfect... Might want to try driver cleaner if you upgraded cards and kept the same OS as your previous card or like the others said you might want to look into the PSU as if it is generic it might not like the +12V load.
