New gpu,

Uninstall old drivers.

Reinstall 8.7.

Everything works, sound etc.. apart from a game, so i do a driver down grade to see if it works.

Uninstall 8.7

Reinstall 8.6

Game doesnt work, sound doesnt work.

Reinstall 8.7 game works ( well, i found the problem) sound doesnt work.



This also happened before 2 weeks ago when i got another gpu and i installed 8.6, no sound, but when i went back to 8.7 sound worked again.


But now no sound works.

Anyone know a fix?

Open your device manager and make sure your audio hardware doesn't have a yellow exclamation mark next to it. Try downloading the drivers for your sound and reinstalling them. Also, are you using on-board audio or a dedicated sound card?

Fixed it.


Went to device manager. audio.


i disabled the ati catalyst audio driver. and now it works.

onboard sound yes.
