Just got my hands on an ASUS Radeon HD 4870 Matrix 512MB Video Card and it looks sweet. I'm sending it down to Chris so he can write it up and benchmark it while I am out of town, but snapped a few pictures to show this sexy little card off to you guys!
The ASUS Radeon HD 4870 512MB Matrix is a very neat looking card with a single four pipe heat sink that is cooled by two cooling fans. The graphic processor operates at 770MHz frequency , instead of typical 750MHz, and the memory at the effective frequency 3680MHz QDR, instead 3600MHz QDR. A minor overclock, but it will have more in it for those that want to push it higher. The card has a Hybrid Cooler+, which offers different fan speeds, so 2D usage gets silent cooling and 3D gets extreme cooling.
The Back of the EAH4870 MATRIX/HTDI/512MD5 is pretty plain, but what do you expect for the back of the card.
The ASUS EAH4870 MATRIX/HTDI/512MD5 uses not one, but two PCIe 6-pin connectors.
ASUS color coded the dual dual-link DVI ports to match the included adapters, so the yellow HDMI adapter plugs in the yellow dual-link DVI port. Simple and plug-in-play usage for general consumers.
Here is a great macro picture that I took of the ASUS Super Hybrid Engine chip. This chip offers multi-level GPU and Memory voltage adjustment for extreme power save and performance boost!
Expect more on this card in the next couple weeks as we will post a full review of it up here on Legit Reviews. If you want to see more about it check out the cards product page over at the ASUS website.

i hate it when people put there own custom printing on IC's, thats probably a COTS chip ill never be able to figure out what it is
it is a very sleek looking card though

Nice! I hope the cooling is as effective as it looks. 512 MB's of memory is a little weak these day's imo. (says the man with 256).

I agree with the 512MB "issue" given how upper mid-range cards these days are utilized at 1680x1050 or 1900x1200. Would have preferred to see this in a 1GB flavor but no worries, should still be a fun card.

Well, in all fairness I run two 256MB cards @ 1920x1200 on my 24" Syncmaster and 1920x1080 on my LG 52" LCD. Nary a problem as long as i don't get carried away with AA.
I do have to be careful with some of the higher end texture mods though.
I think gamers will still be safe for another season with 512MB's but mores law applies here and will become very relevant in the near future 6-12 months.
