Have you removed the video card driver and tried updating to CATALYST 9.2 drivers yet?

Know anyone who has a similar card you can swap into your system to see if their card works? If you can do this, you might find out if your card has gone bad and it's time to upgrade. Another way to find out is to download and burn a Linux live-cd
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download , which will use open-source drivers to see if its a windows driver problem or a hardware issue - if it acts up in the live-cd environment then its definitely a bad graphics card.

What you'll want to do is turn off the pc with the live-cd in the disk drive, restart, and boot to the cd. You may need to enter the BIOS to change your boot device priority to something like "CD > Hard Drive > Removable Device > Floppy" That's just a reference, as long as the CD boot option is first you should be fine
*EDIT* Noticed that you said you had the same issue with another card. I'd still do the live-cd test with both cards if you can. If you're able to swap out your CPU as well it may help to find out what the problem is. It's good to run down the typical suspect list to verify if, in fact: somehow both cards are bad (not so likely), something went bad on your motherboard (maybe your video card slot), or maybe your RAM went south (happens to the best of us)
So try to see if you get video issues in the live-cd environment. If you do get issues with both cards then you're most likely looking at a hardware problem and the next step will be to test all your components individually

Some component in your system is getting stressed more than it would under "normal" conditions, so that's whats going out of whack

Can it be as result of Overheating?

Brother had a similiar problem. Computer works fine on desktop, enter a game and get random crashes, artifacts, etc. Turned out to be a bad stick of ram.
