I have big temp problem my card goes over 100 C with fan at 100% on full load, idle temps are 89-93 C with fan on abaut 45-50%. I have a great air flow in my case 8 fans, 3 are blowing on the card two 120 mm from below and 1 90mm from the side. Temp inside the case is from 10-20 C except around VGA card, probe near it says 70 C. Is there anything to be done or is the card defective.
When i play games i use 1920x1200 with max detail and this is when i get the most problems as temp goes up to abaut 97 C the game starts to flicker, few degrees more i get artifacts then the screen goes dark and my comp stops and i have to do manual reset. This also hapens with smaler resolutions and levels of detail it just takes 30-60 min longer on max it gets to 100 C in 2-10 min.
I think the temp goes well over 105 C but because my card crashes and with her my computer i cant mesure how high it goes.
I have: Sapphire Radeon 4870 X2 2GB
The rest of my configuration:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2,83MHz, clocked 3400 MHz (8.5 x 400) 40 C max on full load
MEM: DDR3 2x2 GB Kingmax FLGE85F-B8MF7 1600
MBO: Asus Rampage Extreme
PSU: CORSAIR HX620w modular
If you need any more information ask and i will provide.
P.S. I am sorry for my bad english.

As this is a new card, I would ask where you bought it from for a replacement, as it is obviously faulty with how hot it is getting. These are too high temperatures for normal running, even for the 4870X2.

I got the damn thing from a store called optimum computers in croatia to tell you the truth im embarest to return it again since i did i once all ready 4 days after buying it on the accaunt that one GPU was dead and this replacment card always had temperature problem (about 94 C fullload, 89 idle with all my fans blowing on it with out them she crashed) but in the last week it has become extreme. In any case she is going back again and im demanding a new one from the store. The thing that anoys me is i did not even try to overclock the thing and still i get this problems.
P.S. if again i get a broken card is there anyone in AMD/ATI i can report it because, first broken card, ej it happens, second is a coincidence, three times, some1 is trying to scr** you.

I'm not sure where you would report something like that, but if you do end up with a third defective one, then register the card with sapphire and post it off to them to get a replacement. It will cost in postage, and will take longer than it would with a swap out at the shop, but you'll be sure to get a working one back afterwards.
Alternatively you could try and ask for a refund from the shop if the third card is defective, and buy from somewhere else.

Have you checked to make sure your PCI-E slot is running regular volts? Sometimes if you forget to set those to auto, or manually set them to stock, you can overvolt your card

Ok well I worded it odd, my manual for my ASUS P5N32-E SLI board has a "PCIEX16_1 Frequency (MHz) [100]" option under the "Extreme Tweaker" tab in the BIOS, maybe that'll help a little? (Either way, Dmb2000uk's suggestions are probably the best way to go)

The corsair 620HX is a great PSU, so I wouldn't have thought that was the problem.

question: is one of cards or rather GPU suposed to work on 750/900 all the time that is on idle and full load.
