ATI Catalyst Mobility 9.3 vs CS:S

Hello,

I'm having problems with the new ATI Catalyst Mobility 9.3 driver.
I have a rather old ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 and I play Counter Strike Source. Well, not since yesterday when I installed the new drivers.
The game starts to load, the hard disk is busy then suddenly stops. No error screen, no nothing. It just stops.
I didn't install anything else and before the new driver's installation the game started perfectly fine.
Any ideas what could be the problem and/or how I could find a solution?

Have you tried re-installing the video driver at all?

I had an almost 3 year old omega driver.
Don't really want to reinstall it if there was some kind of explanation to this problem but if there wasn't then I have no choice.

well you installed the new drivers and then you're issues arose, so a reinstallation of that driver or go back to the old one would be the best bet..is it just the game that stops or is it windows completely?

Windows is working fine. The game is not loading. Or it starts and then stops without any warning or error message.
I decided to try the catalyst 9.2 but I just can't find it. I've found a torrent and downloaded but the installation stops because of this error message:
SETUP cannot proceed because the length of the specified directory path plus the installation folder name exceeds 88 characters.
I'll try to find a newer omega driver (or maybe catalyst 9.1) and see if that works. If not then it's back to the old omega driver.

well..you could always try re-installing the game first if it's just the game that stops..and if it does it again after the reinstall then the drivers would be next to do
