I was looking for a Radeon 9800XT and the only two makers I could find were AGPtek and JETWAY. Anyone know who they are and whether or not they are good. As A side note I was curious why no one makes the 9800XT?? If they are available in a well known brand help in finding one would be great.

Most of the 9800 pros you find now have R360 cores (same as all 9800xt cards) and will easily clock to 9800xt levels... the 9800xt was a very top-end card, and never reached very good price/performance levels.

just get a 6600 gt if you are looking for a card in that price range.

Unless I have read wrong the 6600GT is not as good a card in terms of performance. From what I read the 6600GT is a 128bit memory interface while the 9800Pro and XT is a 256 bit. Also in all the info sheets I read about the 9800 series nothing says what core they have. I dont understand why ATI cant name the card after the core so we can easily tell what the differences are between two cards. I have always assumed the number indicated the VPU like 7500, 9600, 9800 etc. How can I tell from a site like New Egg or ZipZoom what core the card uses? I have already been throught the fight of sellers info not matching manufactoring info so I need to be able to know what the seller says the product is. Do all 9800XTs have the same core?

Yeah, all 9800XTs are R360 core AFAIK.

I would also give the nod to the 6600gt in terms of performance... I've got a 9800 pro in my Athlon XP box, and a 6600gt in my current box for comparison.

Agreed, without any proof or stats to indicate it, it seems more people have gotten better performance out of the 6600GT compared to the 9800 series...but thats just from what I've seen.

Heard of Jetway and know they are carried in the states... AGPtek is a new company that formed in 2004 i believe and I have never seen their products or know of anyone to buy from them. They are sold at newegg, but other than that I have no clue. So between AGPtek and Jetway I'd go Jetway personally. Jetway has been around longer and makes a number of products.

As for your original question the 9800XT is pretty much EOL (End of Life). Newer cores are out and perform better than the 9800XT with better thermals, so everyone has pretty much phased over.
