Ian McNaughton made a blog post today here at Quakecon 2009 that gave his readers early access to the final build of the latest ATI Catalyst driver. The official launch of CATALYST 9.8 drivers is not until Monday, but they thought you guys might like an early look. It's not too often AMD 'leaks' their own drivers a few days early, but we all want better drivers ASAP. In our tests at 1680x1050 resolutions and higher, ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 cards, and other 2x,3x,4x CrossFireX situations benefit considerably (up to ~50% in FarCry2) when used on a platform featuring AMD Dragon Technology. Titles such as Far Cry2, H.A.W.X., Battleforge, Stalker Clear Sky, Crysis, Company of Heroes, and World in Conflict show the largest gains.
