I was looking around on newegg and I came across a Sapphire ATi Radeon HD 4860. At first I thought it wa a mistake, but it's not.
It has:
- 256-bit GDDR5
- 800 Stream Processors/Shaders (It's stated that it has 640; that's en error.)
-700Mhz Core clock, 750 Mem clock
- 1GB VRAM
-DirectX 10.1

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6&Tpk=4860
It seems to fit in between the 4850 and 4870.
It's sold for $134.99CDN / $129.99 USD.
I guess AMD/ATi's using up the remaining 4800 chips :-k

EDIT: There is a 512MB version, but it's not on newegg...yet.

Hmph. Never heard THAT one before. Sounds interesting although rather pointless as the 5000 series are now dominating the graphics card market. I don't particularly see the point of a card in between the 4850 and 4870 as they are fairly close on performance and price.

Yeah, I think they should focus on DirectX 11 cards.

The "4860" has been out for a while now. As far as I can tell its not an official ati release but sapphire trying to create a bit more product differentiation for themselves
