X800XL

ive got a suspected dead X800XL coming to me for 15 bucks....i would buy it just so i can destroy it for fun
... but if it isnt dead (guy only has PCI-E boards so couldnt test) are these any good? do they unlock (though i heard that they do) and what oc'ing could i get outa it...if it works

They are very good cards for the $$ but they do not unlock and do not OC well at all. Mine only got up to 423/548. The reason they dont unlock is that they are all ready 16pipes based on the R430 core. If it does work thats a hell of a buy as they cost about $230 used.

oh, i thought they we only 12 pipes, thats an even better deal then for 15 bucks
what cooling do you have on it? because if it does work (and if you are on stock), im thinking of maybe getting some nice cooling for it...maybe even mod one of my extra prescott cpu hsf onto it

Really good deal for fifteen dollars, I hope it works, but if not send it to me:p, maybe I can get it working:p as long as its free its worth the meddling for a bit, maybe some sodering :p. Or just bust it up. peace out.

why not just not mess with it and rma it in to ati and have them fix it? it'll only cost you shipping.
