AMD Radeon HD 7950, 7870 & 7850 Receive Price Cuts

Post by crazyeyesreaper »

We’re announcing a few price moves for our enthusiast and performance class of products. You will start to see our AMD Radeon HD 7950 for as low as $319 (including the ones that have PowerTune with Boost), the 7870 GHz Edition starting at $249, and the 7850 2GB for as low as $209 (1GB version for $189) towards the end of this week. We feel, that with this move, we continue to offer the best performance / dollar in the high-end segment of the graphics market today.

We’d also like you to draw your attention to a game we recently talked a lot about on different forums, Sleeping Dogs. This game is one of this summer’s biggest titles, that offers a GTA-type gameplay set in Hong Kong. Filled with rich DX11, PC-exclusive features such as SSAA, HDAO etc, this game will challenge even the fastest graphics cards with its built-in benchmark. We’ll be bundling this game with our AMD Radeon HD 7800 series of products, and you should see this campaign online in 2-3 weeks time.

And last, but not least, the gaming season for 2012 has just begun! The industry has a plethora of AAA games lined up for the gaming community and AMD is on the front lines. Medal of Honor: Warfighter with its Frostbite 2 engine, the reboot of Tomb Raider with large, open lush environments, Hitman: Absolution with its new engine that’s capable of rendering crowds in the thousands, and of course Bioshock: Infinite are all coming this year to the PC, and are going to make DX11 shine at its best. Most of the technologies in these games you’ve probably seen already in DiRT Showdown, Sniper Elite V2 and Nexuiz. Or if you haven’t, they’re definitely a good showcase of the shape of things to come.
