Is it all just down to Core Clock Speed?

Post by Comparisim »

Hi people, I dont really know much about GPU. I have been building my first rig in an effort to learn about all this stuff. Anyway the rig is nearly complete. The final compnent was the GPU which was delivered a couple days ago but they sent me thw wrong one. The one I ordered was built by AMD I think (the red one) but the one they delivered was built by Sapphire (the black one). I am wondering i should just keep the black one to save me the hassle of sending stuff back and waiting for redelivery since they both cost nearly the same? They seem to be identical in spec except the Sapphire one has a core clock speed of 810 while the red one has a core clock of 850. I have to admit the red one look much nicer. I have provided links to both below so u can check out details on specs at the store where I made the purchase. What do you reckon; keep sapphire or send it back?

The one I ordered:

Same card with better cooling. Sapphire is a partner that sells their own variations of the AMD card you thought you ordered. They use the same hardware and drivers so no worries.

I would keep the Sapphire. As Major wrote: the cooling is better and quieter, so you would be better off by keeping the black card. You can allways OC the card and since the cooling is better, your OC could be higher than with the stock cooling.
