ATI tool question

So, i find that my fan control settings are not in effect when i am NOT running ati tool. is there any way to run the fan controls that i want when ati tool is not running?
nope... atitool must be running... for fan settings, just like it must be running for automated profiles!
Why close it though... i mean it only uses a couple of MB's of ram at most!
