both look great... just a thought on the GFX card... for $40 more u can get a 7900GT. However im not sure which would have the better performance cause the 7900GT has half the RAM but irs a next gen chip!
Just down to personal opinion and the depth of your pocket!

depends on the chipset he wants to use really... if he want's the CrossFire 3200 Xpress then go ATI... If he wants to use the nForce4 chipset go NVIDIA... It's a platform choice now and not really a video card choice.

if he wants the ability to run SLI someday I'd save a bit more money and go the 7900GT... If he never wants to run SLI then go with the ATI X1800 that you have listed!
Hope that helps

As long as it runs at the rated speed it will be fine, as for the vga card I went ahead and ordered him the 7900gt (Evga) the one that runs @ 550 on the core.. it was 359, that way he can go SLI if he wants (which he probably will)

That shouldnt be a problem unless youre gonna have dual GFX card some day? Guess its better to prepare for it just in case though?

Yeah I think it is better to pay the extra 4 and get a 7900GT.
