ATi drivers phone home?

Hi!

Today I had sort of a crash in Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow and for a split second I saw soem Ati-blabla window, but the the game window got focus again. But I could not do anything in the game, I had to log off and log on again to use Windows. Then, as I launched Outlook Express I saw that it's about to send and email to "Ati SmartStart" or whatever with a "crash.dat" binary file attached to it. Do Ati drivers do this without my knowledge? Or maybe I hit "OK" by mistake on a window that was "under" Splinter Cell?

Did anyone notice a similar behaviour?

This is one of ATI’s most important features of CATALYST. It is called “VPU Recover”. You can find out more information about it here.

You can also turn it off in the control panel if for some reason you don’t like it.

Well, this is a nice feature then :) I'm an ATi freshman, and I could not hide it :)

Thanks Apoptosis :)
