well first of all for future trouble shooting threads let me suggest the following.
1. List all your hardware specs
2. List all the specifics of the situation, ie software, type of load (ie full, half etc)
3. How often the problem occurs
That being said taking a stab in the dark, it could be one of three things.
1. It could be the video card overheating. Grab ATItool and check the temps after 5minutes. If there high, then it could be that
2. Your powersupply can't handle the card. But this is unlikely because it was the comp would reset
3. The game installation(s) are corrupt, probably but not likely
And from all the Mods and Admins and the rest of the LR Staff, welcome to LR and hope you stay a while

Goto start / run and type "dxdiag" and run the basic tests......
Also try reinstalling DirectX
D/L the full installer from M$.
Have you ran Memtest? -> worth a try
dicecca112 could be onto something, try running the rig with the side panel off with a fan blowing on the gfx card.....it could be a heat prob

i've had friends whos comps crash in gaming who had one of two issues myself included haveing a 939 proc. either its yoru ram speed from having too many dimms and they need to be downclocked. that was my case with 4 dimms trying to run at 400mhz had to put at 333. the other issue was really just eth powersupply being crap or not enough power that could be affecting it. even witha 500 watt psu that sucked my friend couldn't do much more than word process his 7800gt when he got it. after a lot of parts interchanging with my comp is when we found out it was a psu that needed to be upgraded. I didnt' recall seeing how many dimms you were running or what wattage/brand (amps are more important) psu you have.
