x800 gto cooler on 9600?

So does anyone know if I can put my x800 gto's old cooler on my 9600 atlantis? which is currently passively cooled. I have some arctic silver 5 and even some other different thermal pastes from different coolers but I wanted to know if it has the same type of connection or if anyone has done it before. I know they make arctic cooling for 9600/x800 on one cooler but it might be a different connection adapted for each.

if the screw holes line up, and it makes good contact with the core, then why not?

well ideally it would fit, but the transistors or whatever in the middle of the board and on the end won't let me put it on there but the holes do line up. too bad that crappy aluminum passive cooling would have gotten a hell of an upgrade with the all copper cooler and fan.
