All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro & Digital Cable TV?

I have an All-In-Wonder 9000 Pro. It has a CATV in (& video in) & a DVI-I Dual out. I've been using the DVI-I to VGA adapter but now my new (refurbished) monitor, a 21" CRT IBM P275, has a DVI-I Dual in. I just ordered a new DVI-I Dual cable to connect the AIW to the monitor. I understand that the AIW DVI-I Dual out is analog & that the monitor DVI-I Dual in is also analog.

I'm thinking of upgrading from analog cable TV to digital cable TV. Digital cable costs $12 per month more & gives extra channels. But the main reason to upgrade would be for the supposed improved digital clarity of the video. My question is: Since it's going through analog connectors on both ends of the AIW & the monitor, will there be any advantage or improvement by upgrading to digital cable TV?

Digital cable requires a digital cable box, if you do not run your connection through the box you will still just have an analog signal.
Which will not improve your video quality.

The problem with using a box is the channel selection must be made with the box not your AIW tuner. This limits the use of a VCR or PVR/DVR unit that is not built into the digital cable box.
