Is anyone running this setup. Directon says the board is in fact Crossfire compatable but I want to make sure before I order.

It is compatible, but it doesn't run with both cards in 8x + 8x config.

The second PCIe slot will run at 4x speed AFAIK. There's no real world difference, except in very high resolutions.
If you NEED official xFire support, go with the 975 chipset.

Ok, my monitors native resolution is 1920x1200. I don't know if that's still considered an ultra high resolution anymore. The Asus website seemed to say it had special features for Crossfire support. Do you have a board you would recommend then?

The P5W-DH is based on the 975 chipset and has full support for crossfire. It's a very stable board too.

That does look like a fantastic board! Supports dual PCI-E X16 and ATI.

My only question is do they have a stripped down version with without all that extra stuff. I don't need a remote control for my PC. All I'm seeing on ASUS's web site is the P5W DH Deluxe.

Crossfire with a P5B Deluxe board works very well and is very stable.

I currently run a P5B Deluxe Wifi/An Edition, with dual ATI X1650 Pro 512mb cards from "HIS". Very very stable system.
