Microsoft is offering a deal on refurbished HDD's to upgrade your memory capacity if you own a Arcade or Core 360 console. There are a couple of deals to be had. One is simply the the HDD for $19.99. The other I know of is the HDD and 3 months of Live for $29.99. It seems to give the Live deal if you haven't connected to Live before and simply the HDD deal if you have.

All you need for the deal is your console serial number and console ID number. The Console Serial Number and Console ID are both located in the System Information area of the Xbox 360 Dashboard:

1. Turn on your Xbox 360 Console
2. Scroll right to the System area. This may also be System Settings depending on your version of the dash
3. Select Console Settings
4. Select System Info
5. Write down your Console Serial Number and Console ID

Yeah, they won't do it. Unless it's a core or arcade 360, you won't get a deal.

I guess some americans are being offered a 512 mb memory card as well. Why? I don't know. Who needs that if you have a hdd?

How do you have 10 gigs? I thought they only sold it with 20.

If you want backwards compatibility to the original Xbox, you need a HDD. not to mention listening to custom soundtracks in game and some other features.

thanks for the heads up, i need one!

Reviving a dead post...

I am currently waiting on my 120gig HD.

I bought a dead 360 harddrive on ebay for the case and I'm going to put the 120gig in there. It's supposed to be pretty simple. I got the original hard drive out of the case and all the software downloaded and ready. Just waiting for the drive, should be here any minute...slow UPS.
