Patriot 4300 DDR2 at 387MHz with 3:4 divider = 774

Post by heidrickla »

Just got Patriot 4300 DDR2 2x1gig to post at 387 with a 3:4 divider. That adds up to 774  This is the first case that I know of of anyone getting this particular type to post at anything above 705 with any board. It says its rated for 533 and 700 I am using the stock timings for 700 of 4.3.3.12
The FSB is running at 290 with Intel 660C and a 14 multi. With a 1.3375Vcore
Super PI is running 32M test now it just passed the 8M test. Looks like I'll be updating my sig soon... assuming it passes.

Nice, I've heard some good things about Patriot memory and they have good prices too. I almost bought some but I decided to play it safe with the OCZ Platinum DDR600 mem :)

What voltages are you running? Do you know what IC's and PCB the modules are using?

Congrats on the very nice overclock.

FYI - CPU-Z et al doesn't always show acurrate mem speed when using dividers. What are your BIOS settings?

Bios settings are the same as in my sig I had to change the PCI-e bus speed to 115 and disable PEG by setting it to slow (ASUS's Video Card Overclocking thing) I use coolbits to overclock anyways so it was too much before, and was actually probably the limiting factor on most of my other overclock attempts. Under the ram speed there are 3 selections I chose the highest of 774. After later testing I actually got it to boot up at 800 but had stability issues and didnt feel like fiddling with it long enough to figure out what was causing it.

I'm using 2.1v for the ram I cant tell as far as the modules since they are covered by the heat spreader on both sides. I think I read somewhere that they are the same as corsair or OCZ I think. Dont quote me on that though.
