MEMORY TESTING
MEMORY TESTING
I just got my second replacement set of Twinx1024-3200C2PT and this one is also XMS3203V3.1 just like the other two. This set seems to be running OK at 2-3-3-6 but I was wondering what is there I can use to test it, other than MEMTEST86, to see if it is stable at these settings? My last set booted fine then crashed under load( halflife) and did fine on memtest86.

hum... that is very odd. usually Memtest works pretty well for finding errors. Real Life applications are different, so that would explain why synthetic testing missed the errors... oh well glad to hear that one worked out for you.
To answer the question RST Pro2 testing (the expensive add in card) is the only way to test memory better than Memtest.

I think I finaly got a good set. I ran MEMTEST86 for 71/2 hours with no errors at 2-3-3-6. I haven't tried any tighter than that yet but I am happy so far.

Man I don't understand this (*&(&^*^%$^) I spent hours asking questions about memory and hours reading the answers and in none of that did anyone tell me that XMS 3200C2PT will not run at CAS2 on an AMD system until after I bought 1GB of it. Now I spent $259.00 plus shipping on memory that will not do what I thought it would. Corsair says its ZipZoomFly's problem for claiming performance beyond manufacturers specs and ZipZoom replaces this set with another that won't run at CAs2. My confusion gets worse when I run MEMTEST86 for 71/2 hours with no errors but as soon as I go to play a game it locks up. I can change the CAS to 2.5 and the prblem vanishes. Maybe I am being a cry baby but I work really hard for my money and I have this, appearantly, unrealistic expectation to get what I was told I would get for my money. I am not blaming you guys just griping to my computer friends.

Thats BS. regardless of whos at fault the vendor should do everything in their power to make you happy. I just bought some of that 3200XLL from Newegg, it automatically configures itself at 2-2-2-5, It cost me $318, but it is awesome memory.Since you bought from Zip, they should exchange it for the memory you want.
