I'm working on an article and a memory company told me this...

It is known and documented by us and other memory manufacturers that ALL Intel 865 and 875 chipset boards cannot handle a RAS to CAS delay of lower that 3. The our 2-2-2 part is designed to run the RAS to CAS delay at 2. If the RAS to CAS delay is lower than 3, the system will be unstable (blue screens, reboots, crashes).

What do you guys think about that...

I know I've been running a Cas Latency of 2 since the i875P chipset came out over a year ago and have yet to see a single blue screen due to memory timings...

yeah ahh that sounds like a marketing decision to make their product look like it sucks less. while i dont use a 875 at home all the systems we build at work at 875 and they seemed to work just fine with cas 2 when i was testing them.

I would say that depends more on the make and model of MB and the specific memory IC that being used. However, I have seen that many of the Intel I865 chipset MB's will not run as well or over clock as well as the I875 chipset MB's, no matter who the MB maker has been. But I think Abit's MB's based on I865 have over clocked better than most others. But me personally I would still go with Canterwood I875 and have had better luck with running tight timings.
