While on the show floor at IDF we were talking with Corsair and Kingston as usual. This time around we had Robert (Corsair) and Louis (Kingston) on hand for us to chat with. Both are some of the brains behind XMS and HyperX memory and very well respected amoung overclockers. Corsair was showing off their DDR2 675MHz 3-2-2 memory while Kingston was showing off their DDR2 866MHz 5-5-5 memory, so we had a frequency versus latency battle brewing. Before I knew it the two memory enemies  were talking and then this happened:

With the show floor open and guests/press walking around they started overclocking and tweaking their demo systems. Pretty crazy because when running 4+GHz and 866MHz+ on the memory anything can happen. They didn't hold hands or break any new memory records, but it was nice seeing the people behind Corsair and Kingston are really into overclocking and their jobs. It isn't every day you see stuff like this on the show floor!!

We nominate Corsair and Kingston best new chums of IDF 2005! \:D/

I just wonder how much the ES samples cost and how much they were risking just to overclock. You know some bean counter somewhere cried all night after that much money was at risk.

Just so you know...some of us bean counters like to pull off our green shades now and then and do a little o/c'ing too. Somebody's got to keep up with those ns, MHz and gigabytes, so why not us? :)

Ssup Nate, I was wondering when that picture would surface. Thanks for putting the LR logo over my large ACE! OC'ing is definitely one of the cool things about my job. The CPU in that system was a freebie from Intel. Don't worry to much about the bean counters, I'm worried enough on my own! It would kill me to lose that proc.
