checking compatability at abits site and they list nothing higher then pc-3200. I have 1gb of pc-4000 hyperX (2x512) which I am selling so I can get corsair instead. I am wanting to know if I can use just 1 piece instead of a pair (which is better anyway?). Also I am looking at the CMX512-4000PRO..

The NF7 won't make good use of the XMS4000 (won't overclock to 250MHz), you'd probably be better off with the 3200LL...

The highest i have been able to get to is 225fsb. XMS4000 would be overkill for any NF7 mobo.

I would go with the 3200 and go paired there is a slight performance increase in dual channel!

go with pc3200. You can get a nice oc with that. if i had money thats what i would get

Just about every memory maker recomends PC 3200 for the nForce boards as PC3200 can run much tighter timings that PC4000 even when it's set to 400fsb. AMD and nForce are all about tight tight timings....... :twisted:

nForce and AMD are tight timings yep, but ur NEVER gonna get an AMD CPU to 250FSB, lets be reasonable, unless u got phase change.... even then ur mobo wont like it!
PC3500 or 3700 might be better....

I've read of people SAYING that they hit 250fsb, but I've never seen a posted bench with one that high.......

Unless u got a modded board, with better northbridge cooling and better voltages to ur components (like the nbridge) AND really good components, because the AGP:PCI divider doesnt go that high..... its unrealastic!

Well actualy... there are nf2 mobos that will hit 250 fsb but they are all dfi infinity or lanparty. the real problem with these boards is that at high voltage the regulation is unstable so they tend to be good overclocers but not the best.

First of all, use two memories in dual channel, that will give you the best performance, about what memory, I think that the best is but 3500 or 3700 or 4000 because they are more stable than PC3200 at overclocking and your overclock won´t be limited by the memory

CMX512-4000PRO won't give you the tight timing which nForce2 needs to gain optimal performance. You'll need at least 2-3-2-5 in the PC3200 range or 2.5-3-3-7 in the PC3700 range.
Currently the best PC3700 for nForce2 I've found with relative tight timing is OCZ PC3700 Rev.2 Gold.
