357 instead of 400 !

I am using 2 sticks of Transcend 2BG modules at Dual channel on a MSi K9AG Neo2 Digital. I used CPU-Z to see the memory speed and timings. it shows 357 instead of 400. My cpu multiplier was 12.5. I changed it to 12 and it is 400 now. But processor speed is now 2.4GHz which was 2.5GHz.

What is good for me?
using AMD 4800+ @2.5=200x12.5 with 357MHz memory speed or
AMD 4800+ @2.4=200x12.0 with 400MHz memory speed.
:-k

I'd say that the difference would be negligible.

Either. I do believe I saw some bench marks when the first brisbane's came out that showed what you are looking for. I'll try finding it.

Here they are discussing your problem.

It looks like having your ram run slightly slower will only result in ~3 percent penalty.

Edit: If I'm not allowed to post that link, please remove it mods.

Great post of information. Speed isn't everything if the whole system isn't in tune.

That little loss of 100Mhz vs. gaining the memory speed is minor. I'll go with the memory speed.

Now that you have the machine tuned well with the timings and such, are you folding for team LR?
(just had to put that plug in here. 8) )

are you folding for team LR? And I saw that discussion in Toms Hardware. I can still get almost 2.6 with 12 multiplier by O.C. So i think 400MHz memory is helping.
What do you say.
