Memory Voltage Help

I've been running OCZ 2gb (2 x 1gb) in my computer for over a year now with XP 32 OS. I recently bought this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820227479. I added it to my computer for a total of 6gb of RAM. But now it won't work and I keep upping the voltage. It started out not booting, then the graphics were messed up and the keyboard and mouse wouldn't work. Then the keyboard and mouse wouldn't work again. And now its up to 2.50 and still not stable. I have Win 7 64 bit to install, but I wanted to make sure the RAM setup was fine before I installed it. I read that only the 64bit XP would recognize the 6gb of RAM. So I'm thinking I need to install the Win 7 64bit, and then deal with adding the RAM. Any thoughts?

Does the original RAM match the new RAM (same specs, etc)?
