Well a great memory module bit the dust tonight. This is the first kit of memory that I have ever broken by doing something to it myself.

The Poor Module:



I've taken the heat spreader off of hundreds of modules and this was the first time I have ever pulled off an IC with the heat spreader. As you can tell in the picture above I pulled off two IC's on this module. This kit was the OCZ PC2-6400 EB Dual Channel Platinum Edition. Oh well at least it was a 2x 512mb kit and not a 2GB kit.

it looks like glue to me. it sure sticks like hell. must be pretty adhesive

still, a waste of a damn good kit of DDR2....... ::heavy sigh::

oh well... it was worth it in the long run... found something interesting under one of those heat spreaders! Review is pending comments on what I found one of the kits.

anything to do with the chips used? or the PCB? because the PCB from what I can see anyways looks like JEDEC standard......but the standard green can be deceiving I believe.
