OC'ing Corsair XMS

this is my DDR SDRAM
my OCed comp at the Signature below
I think me RAM use Promos chip
I've OCed like this: FSB:240MHz
1/ Didn't change the bandwidth (DDR/FSB:5/6) :--->srill run 200MHz
2/OCed the timming of my DDR SDRAM in DFI nF3 UT BIOS like this :
CPC: 1T
tCL : 2.0
tRCD: 3
tRAS: 7
tRP : 3
tRC : 10
tRFC: 12
tRRD: 2
tWR: 2
tWTR: 1
tRTW: 1
tREF: 3120
tWCL: 1
everything elses of timming I set at Auto (no change). Vdimm at stock
this passed the OCCT Stability test,...
my RAM timming is OK ??
I wonder if I can OC the bandwidth more from 200 MHz ??

Probably but you'll almost definitely have to up the CAS (Tcl) to 2.5 and probably need to add more volts. Keep in mind, sometimes tighter timings are better than a little more bandwidth. Benchamrk each way and see what works best

Are you sure that ram uses ProMOS chips???
What revision are they?
are the xms (C2 / LL or XL)???
Also on the label it will say "rev.1 upto rev4.1"
Depending on the ram chips, you may be able to OC more or lower timings (mayby even both)

2-3-3-7: 1T is pretty good at 240MHz with stock voltages...
Have you tried these settings?
tCL : 2.0
tRCD: 2
tRAS: 6
tRP : 2
Try those at stock voltages and again with increased voltages. Most OC'er run their memory at 2.8V to 2.9V, so don't be affraid to increase the voltage. The board you have should allow some overclocking, but let's first find out what the limits of your modules are at default voltages and we can go from there.

this is my corsair RAM

I thinks it use Promos IC's chip !!!
I'm trying to OC it : (all RAM timming I set at Auto)
1/ 240 MHz, my FSB is set at 240MHz (1:1 divider), I took a risk by adding the vdimm to 2.7v ----> I got B.S.O.D (Oh my god)
2/ Fail with 240MHz, I tried with 220MHz by changing the divider into 9/10,
keep vdimm at 2.7v ---->look better when I could boot in windows, I even passed the OCCT test --> ... BUT that is the last time I could boot to windows (next restart i jst got black screen ... )
Finally I have to change to 166 divider then everything is fine...however I still wanna get higher memory bandwidth ...so please help me !!! should I use 2.8v at vdimm (cuse it's too high) ???
3/ After many fail..I've tried 2.8v @ 240MHz, thx to god I could boot to Win XP...but I couldn't pass the OCCT test although I set the timming at 3-4-4-8 1T

That ram uses Mosel Vitelic 5ns IC's
They can run 2-3-3-6-1T @ 200MHz

I can't find any specs for this ram to see what's a safe voltage.....although I've yet to see any Corsair ram that couldn't take 2.85v safley!
Mosel's website is a joke and has no details on the ram they use....
i searched "global spec" an engineering search engine, It finds noting really, I found a spec sheet but i haveto be registered to see it
I'd say download a copy of Memtest86 and burn it to a CD.
Try 2.8v & 2.5-3-3-7 and see how high you can hit with these timings....
If memtest gives errors, try lowering the voltage a little and retest...If it still fails then it's upto you, you can add more voltage or lower the frequency. From what i've read in various forums 2.5-3-3-6 is the sweet spot for your ram.
Don't forget to use SuperPi 32M tests and windows memtest aswell as memtest86....Prime95 is also good too.
Oh and play some games to be sure your stable!!!

I've tried setting my RAM 2-3-3-6-1T @ 200 MHz, but... I couldn't pass the OCCT test

--> I 'm keeping 2.5-3-3-7 @ 200 MHz.
I even decrease the timming to 3-4-4-8-1T + 2.7 (even 2.

vdimm and tried running at 240 MHz--->

nothing better !!
so...I'm not sure my RAM use Mosel chip as you said
by the way..I use to set my RAM at 215 MHz (DDR/FSB : 1/1) and it can pass the OCCT test !!!

If i was you....I'd test with my lowest timing, then with a mild OC on the ram and then with the highest OC you can get with loose timings....
With AMD MHz (on the cpu) will give more performance usually.....
If you have 3dmark or something like that, use it to see wht gives you the best results....Running ram on a divider doesn't kill performance with AMD64 --> not Like Intel
Come to think of it, your ram is Rev 5.2....this stuff isn't listed anywhere...
Personally I'd stay away from *-4-4-* timings....you'll prolly get better performance with 3-3-3-* even if the ram is running @ lower MHz...
Have you found the max your CPU can OC with your setup???
If not, set the ram to a veryy low divider and start upping the FSB 5MHz @ a time.....

I just noticed your timings
TRY
tRFC: 12 --> 14 or 15 or 16
tRRD: 2 -> 3
tWR: 2 -> 3
tWTR: 1 -> 2
tRTW: 1 -> 2 or 3
tREF: 3120 - make sure you change this to auto if using a divider!!!!!!!!!!!!
tWCL: 1 or 5 --> 1 works best --> no other settings work!
Those timings don't do much, but loosening them will help when OC'in
tREF doesn't do much but help stability....but 3120 is for when running the ram @ 1:1 ddr400 --> set it to auto if using a divider or you will see alot of errors and BSOD's ;)
If you have given up on OC'in the ram then set the "tRC" to 9 or 8 or 7 if you can.....this gives a big boost in performance -> If set too low, you won't boot (leave it @ 10 if OC'in)

CPU: 2.36GHz ( FSB : <230 MHz)
RAM: 215 MHz (passed the OCCT stability test )

You can try lowering the CPU multi and changing the memory settings I mentioned.....You might get a bt more of an OC!!

I've tried my best to OC my RAM...Oh my god even set vdimm at 2.7, timming like you mentioned , divider at 9/10 to get 218 MHz...I can passed OCCT test but...out immediately when starting play game (GUN)..
finally I must OC my RAM by loosing the timming !!

Don't get too stressed over this mate.....IF you get more of an OC....It will only 1-2fps more in gaming.....!
Where abouts in the world are you??? --> Just that I'm ordering 2GB tonight....I mayby selling 1GB.....IF your in Europe I mayby able to do a deal ;) (on condition you offer your ram for sale to fellow member!)

I have Corsair XMS 3500LLPro
1:1 with Proc
290 just for proc
285 just for ram
but when 1:1 I haven't got errors for sure at 270.
So it's 2400Mhz and 540 DDR with 3-3-3-8 timings and changed them only once when @.
I started with 2-3-2-6 and 418DDR (SPD)
Now I'm thinking to tight timings, cause they like to be tight (LL).
What do You think?
