This is for all those who said DDR2 "sucks" and was hype.

Maybe there is some life in these systems afterall! I've never seen a system break 7,000MB/Sec in AIDA32 or Everest before so you are close. Very nice scores and some of the best I have ever seen. Great work and keep it coming!

I think this is a case of people expecting more but not seeing it. I have read several articals were people say its not what your getting now its whats comming down the pipe interms of PCIe and DDR2.

those are some INSANE numbers......REALLY impressive....are there any mobos that can use DDR2 with AGP video?....i am TOTALLY digging on moving to PCIe, but re-outfitting my entire rig is a bit more than i can chew right now....

Not on an intel chipset. Intel 925, 915 are PCIe only some manufacturers are offering mobo's with agp and PCIe (ECS, gigabyte) but they are not true agp they run MUCH slower. You will have to wait and see what SIS and VIA come out with. Via has said that it will have a chipset that offers true agp and PCIe with DDR2 or DDR1.

interesting my 2.8C with AI7 and 1GB OCZ PC3500 Plat LE BH-5 @ 250mhz 2-2-2-7 at 3.18v get slightly higher bandwidth in sandra buffered than Prescott 3.6ghz @ 14x 250fsb 1:1 @ 250mhz 4-4-4-12
Everest like Aida32 numbers are expected to be higher for Prescotts too.
Could you run say hexus pifast and thelab pifast benchmarks as well as SuperPi 1, 2, 8, 16, 32M ?
I'm a bit confused as to how 250mhz translates into DDR667 in first post ???

Don't forget that DDR533 requires a 3:4 divider. So keep the 3:4 divider and at 250MHz you will be running 667MHz. Think of 3:4 as the new memory divider to have and use all the time for DDR2...
I'm working on some benchmarks for you.

([new FSB]/[orginal FSB])*[Orginal RAM speed] = [new RAM speed]
so
(250/200)*533.33 = 666.66

Eva & Others,
Here are some Super Pi 1.1E numbers for you at 722MHz DDR:
1M: 34secs (default Intel 560 & 533MHz = 36secs)
2M: 1min 19sec (default = 1min 25secs)
4M: 2min 51sec (default = 3min 3secs)
I've never run Hexus Pifast before but here it is:
default (Intel 560 & DDR533): 60.48 Seconds
270FSB, 14 multi (3.78GHz) & DDR722: 57.00 Seconds
262FSB, 15 multi (3.93GHz) & DDR700: 56.63 Seconds
Doesn't look like the extra memory bandwidth does much good on Pi benchmarks. I'm guessing that memory bandwidth is not the bottleneck!
Well I wanted to test my above theory so I ran some more tests.
With the FSB at 270MHz and a multiplyer of 14 we found this on SuperPi to 4M places:
270FSB w/DDR 540MHz: 2min 55sec
270FSB w/DDR 720MHz: 2min 51sec
So with the same CPU frequency is seems like the more bandwidth the better still. We are seeing only a 4 second gain for the extra 180MHz on the memory though.

Those are very nice results inded!! But i must say they some at a very high pricetag at the moment. And very fast DDR400 show almost as good results ..... you wont notice the difference with any current game anyway.
I think ill skip this generation because the speed impact of going from P4 3.2 GHZ@ 3.7Ghz PC4000 .... to Prescott (Where does that burnt smell come from ... hehe.. just kidding

) someting Ghz and very expensive DDR2 memory.
I just cant justify that .... some comments?
