Hi guys...
I just switched my 2 banks of 512MB of mem ( 1 is Corshair and 1 is Kingston ) into the dual memory sockets. Is there any way that I can check to make sure it's running in dual channel since my 2 pair of memory are not identical ...
when I run the BIOS, it says something about dual channel of mem too..but agian...I"m not sure..is there any other way to see ?
thanks a lot.

if it says dual channel in the BIOS you are good to go. Nate is the memory expert, but my understanding is if they run at the same voltage and timings, then they can run in dual channel

thanks capper for ur fast reply.
the Corshair is the 512MB DDR 3200 and the other one is Kingston 512MB 2700 only...so I don't know if it's gonna work??
But..I just run CPU-Z and it says dual memory ...again I'm not sure

thanks all.

If cpu z is reporting dual chan, and the bios is reporting dual chan, then you are indeed running in dual chan. my guess is that it lowered the speed of the 3200 to match the 2700. but then thats just a guess.

It did, no guessing about it!

you're going to want to replace that 2700 with another stick of 3200, to do away with any possible problem, get a matching stick of the 3200 you already have.
Nate did a great write-up of the Corsair Value select. i bought a stick and in fact the stuff works extremely well
