HELP!!! - DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR

Post by kenc51 »

Hi guys... I just got my new DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR and X2 4400+ :)

I have 1 problem.....

I have no PCIe card (coming next month!)...

The problem is that I can't get it to boot with a PCI gfx card!

The board boots...no monitor

I checked the "system diagnostics" lights below the pci slots... Light No. 4 stays on (according to manual it means vga detect)

I think the board is booting... as i can CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart (using usb keyboard) -> To me it means it's detected my usb... but won't go further unless it detects a GFX card???????

Anyhow... I have an idea (if someone can help out?)...
Can someone pls tell me howto set the primary vga to boot from pci instead of pcie?
Remember i can see the screen so I need exact keys needed... I WILL HAVE TO DO THIS BLIND!

I know the option is in "PnP/PCI Config"...then "Init Display First".... But after I press DEL.... Then what?? Do I press down arrow once, twice or three times :?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry I can't help but I'm interested in seeing how you like your rig once you get it going. I am thinking about using the same board/processor.

What PCI-E card are you getting?

I'd say the 7800GTX....but mayby ATI's card.. If their Catalyst 5.10 / 5.11 drivers mature enough to show real value...

I'm hoping there will be a 512MB version of the 7800 by then.. COD2 and some others prove that 512MB is usefull... and since I already spent €700 for a mobo and cpu alone....It would be an insult not to go for the best!

To be honest! I'd be glad to just see this DFI Bios! even a boot screen.. something.. lol
