The SLI-D supports SLI as well, but without the extra 4 sata-1 ports with RAID5 support that the SLI-DR has.capper5016 wrote:The only DFI NF4 board that supports SLI is the SLI-DR, the first rev of the NF4 Ultra did with a mod and SLI bridge, but DFI "fixed" that problem so that people couldn't take advantage of the exploit.
I'm not a huge believer in SLI, and think its overblown. Go with an Ultra and a high end video card, you won't notice much of a difference while playing games, as when you get to a certain point your eyes just can't tell the difference.
To me, SLI is too expensive and more hype and "benchmark envy" than anything else.
Also, as far as I can tell all Ultra-D boards are still moddable, though apparently the newer ones have more plastic on the chipset which has to be scraped off or something.
