DFI Lanparty 4 none sli problem

Post by Bigedmond »

Ok, my co-worker just bought all the parts for a new rig. So we put it together, and start it up. it gives us a check-sum error, and tries to detect the floppy driver. So i restart, go into bios, and set them so that there is no floppy, F10, and enter to save the configuration. System restarts, and the same error shows up again.

So it looks like the settings are not being saved. Things i do next are, check cmos jumper. Same problem. replace the battery, still happening. Now im just lost.

I never knew Rich did house calls!! wonder what else he does in his free time :P

Try just removing the floppy and disabeling it in the bios see what happens. Also check your date and time. And one more thing is it rebooting twice?? if so that may mean its trying to load, failing and then loading the defaults.

a great thing about this site, people help others fast. Rich has alread given advice that got the problem fixed.

Since it was only 1 stick of ram, he suggested moving the ram to slow 2 or 4, and that worked since it was in slot 1.

BTW, there was not floppy drive hooked up.

Free time.... whats that?
The great thing about this site is the community, it seems we have some great people here who are always helping others.... and it seems to be contagious as more and more great people have made this their home....which makes me proud.
