MSI's New Board is coming!

Post by camaroguy1998 »

I read an article the other day that besides efficiency(which AMD is considered the best ATM!)
Everything else is up in the air!
I'm betting this will be a very expensive board!

I keep watching the 5950X cpu come down in price. Down to $500!!! Damn money tree is being a pain though lol

As for the expense of the board - yea, I imagine everything coming out in the near future will be higher than normal. Even lego is raising prices across the board it seems, even their prices are already really high.

Yeah its getting hard to justify...
MOBO...$500
CPU.....$500
everything else involved.....$1000
and thats going easy on parts list!

I'm just curious to performance specs!

I guess they have upped the prices because the BYO community has gotten a lot smaller in recent years and they have to keep those profit margins up.

Be nice to be able to build a system for cheaper than you could buy it again!!!!

Unfortunately you're correct!
The BYO community is getting smaller and the people who have us BYO's build for them have been shying away because of that cost factor!
I had a friend call me asking about a new system a little more than a year ago!
He wound up buying a Costco special(CyberPower I think)
The $200 he saved going around me came back to haunt him when the Mobo shot craps at 15mos old!
It cost him $225 to get it replaced!
I'm hoping he learned his lesson!
I also had 2 others I built for 10 yrs ago consider a new build!
I replaced their HDD's with SSD's and a fresh reload of windows7 and they're more than happy for a $125 investment!

For myself, I'm looking at a new CPU with my current Mobo! Maybe a new GPU? Maybe another APU?
7XXXG series?????

I would love to do a complete build of a beast again!!! I have an RX580 8gb video card that is still doing really good but would love a nice RTX3090 for video stuff. Saw the 5950x was at $480 from the AMD store on Amazon.....keep on dropping baby lol

Almost everyone I have built a system for has gone the way of buy it in the store. They don't understand the lower quality they are getting, they just see the price tag.
